History of Waterdown Montessori School
Waterdown Montessori School is a not-for-profit parent owned school, with charitable status that was founded in 1979.
The school was originally located on two campuses, Hamilton and Stoney Creek and was known until 1996 as Wentworth Montessori Schools.
The School was moved to the Mother House at the Teaching Sisters of Notre Dame in 1990. Due to space constraints the school was then moved to Knox Presbyterian Church in the heart of Waterdown in 1998.
In August 2000, after much dedication and hard work from parents and staff, we moved into our own new building, located on the beautiful grounds of the Teaching Sisters of Notre Dame.
| Our 5000-square-foot school consists of four classrooms, gym, library, French room, and administration offices and staff room.
Our children have a paved outdoor play area as well as beautiful natural grounds surrounding the school. In fact the school is situated on part of the Niagara Escarpment, an internationally recognized United Nations World Biosphere Reserve. |
