What The Parents Say
- All teachers and staff give the children a sense of a home away from home!
- What a true blessing it has been to have our children gain their educational and social grounding at Waterdown Montessori. I happened to “just come by” there 6 years ago – not knowing we would be spending all these years there. It turned out to be one of the best choices we ever made. We will truly miss all of you – and will keep in touch!
- I wanted to extend my sincere and utmost appreciation to all of the staff at Waterdown Montessori. I have watched my son grow and achieve so much over the past three years. I am beyond thrilled that he will continue on into the elementary programme! I feel that your nourishment has had a monumental impact on his past, present, and future. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
- Only regret is not enrolling my first child at 3.
- I have a 5 year old son that is just completing 3 years of Montessori education at the Waterdown Montessori School and my experience has been absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere at the school is very nurturing and caring while providing a great learning environment. I also have a 12 year old son that completed 3 years of Montessori school and he has flourished in his public school career, key factors being his ability to work on his own and think independently. The Montessori program has truly given him a wonderful foundation for learning, particularly in math and language! I am a true believer in the Montessori program and would highly recommend it!
- Staff is terrific, friendly and very good at what they do. Our child has learnt a tremendous amount and we look forward to the future at the school.
- My daughter looks forward to school every day – the interaction with other children, the compassion and direction given by her teachers – that has developed a true confidence to build on for future education.
- I remember the day when our daughter started at the school. You had just moved to the new location. Our daughter was still a toddler who needed an afternoon nap and now she’s a confident, outgoing young lady who loves to learn. I truly believe that the Montessori education she has received has taught her respect for others, confidence in herself and a desire to learn which will serve her well for the rest of her life. Thank you for everything.
- My son’s learning disability was detected in the first 8 weeks of Lower Elementary. He is currently thriving in the classroom.
- I never thought my son would be reading at 3 years old!
- My daughter attended Waterdown Montessori School from January 2003 to June of 2006. She started at the school at the age of two and a half years and left at age the age of six. This was a wonderful experience for our whole family. She enjoyed progressing through the program and learning to take pleasure in learning. She is now attending the French immersion program at Maplehurst School in Burlington. We are extremely pleased with her progress. She tells us that she has twenty-four friends in her class. She has been placed in the advanced reading group and is very quickly amassing a large French vocabulary. She is independent in her thinking and has a natural curiosity. She loves to learn not only at school but in all aspects of life. We attribute a large percentage of her success to the great start she received at the Waterdown Montessori School. Her younger sister is also attending Waterdown Montessori and will soon be joined by her little brother.
- All of us have thoroughly enjoyed our association with Waterdown Montessori School these past three years. My husband and I have followed our daughter’s development and progress from a brand new “Chickadee” to a very confident Senior Kindergarten “Cardinal”. We have been delighted with the wonderfully positive influence that the school’s philosophy, and all of the staff, have had on our daughter’s character and personality.
- I fully came to appreciate the value of our son’s Waterdown Montessori education in November of his first year in “regular” school. He was in grade 4, enjoying the opportunity to socialize with peers, the privileges that being 9 years old have to offer, and generally having a relaxed and easy time at school. It was when I heard through a peer’s anxious mother that a major project was due that I fully realized what he had learned through Montessori. Since he hadn’t said a word about it, I asked,
“How is the project coming along?”"Oh, I’m having trouble with the first page,” was the response. My heart fluttered; the project was due in two days. I reprimanded myself for not having been more involved. Because I was now an anxious mother I asked, “Could I see it?”
And so he showed me the first page, the cover page, where he was having difficulty “cutting” and “pasting” pictures from the computer to make a graphic design. All the text beyond the first page was complete…no fuss, no muss, no bother. He had just got on with his work like he would have at WMS!
