It’s almost here!

Where: The Waterdown Legion

Cost:  Adults $15, Children $10.  (At the door, Adults $18, Children $12)

What:  A Party and a fundraiser.  Potluck dinner, Silent Auction, Raffles,

Childrens’ Games, a DJ, a Magician, and more.

Our annual Christmas concert takes place on the morning of December 20 this year, at 9:30 a.m. Children should arrive at school as usual.  The concert itself is held in Notre Dame.

Don’t forget to browse our Festive Food Fair in the school gym after the concert!

Santa will be our special guest on Saturday, December 10, when we hold our Pancake Breakfast with Santa!  Mrs. Phyllis’ and Mrs. Barbara’s classes will be our hosts.  Everyone is welcome to join in the festivities: children and their parents, grandparents, alumnae and neighbours! Tickets are $5.00 each and will be available at the office or at the door.

Our Monthly Parent/Caregiver Coffee Club

Wednesday, December 14, 2011, 9:00 a.m.

Please join other parents/caregivers in the WMS French room for some fresh hot coffee and treats along with the opportunity to get to know one another, engage in some informal chat and discuss WMS current events and latest newsletter.  The focus will be on the informal chat!

You are welcome to bring your small children.

That’s the morning of a WMS get-together at Lil’ Monkeys Indoor Playground in Burlington.  We are inviting ALL WMS families, past, present, and future (those registered for September 2011).  Tickets will be sold through the office at regular prices. On Tuesday, January 18th, we will be holding a very special Open House, from 6:30 – 7:30 pm.  The Elementary children and the third year casa children (those who are finishing casa this year), will all be invited to participate.

 The students have a chance to present some exercises, and adults have a glimpse of some of the work the children do each day.  For those of you as yet unfamiliar with what the elementary programme has to offer, it is an eye-opening introduction.  For parents of children participating, it is a joy to watch your child display their learning with pride and confidence. 

 We encourage all parents to attend, whether or not your child is presenting that evening.  It is one of the best ways to learn a bit about the Montessori programme.  Towards the end of the session, parents may have a chance to try the materials themselves.  Are you up for the challenge?
